Nvidia have unveiled their 3D Vision for GeForce, new 3D glasses that make use of certain LCD monitors, Nvidia GPUs, and a pricey pair of 3D active glasses.
Nvidia showed off the Left 4 Dead during the show, and after first glance, the setup is absolutely awesome. The 3D zombies looked realistic and creepy, and the ravines in the video game looked like they were bottomless.

The $199 glasses, necessary Nvidia GPU and expensive LCD monitor make the setup unattainable for the average gamer, but hopefully more companies begin to become interested in 3D technology. The Nvidia glasses works with the monitors, so your favorite 2D video games will transform into 3D video games without game developers needing to do anything special.
Furthermore, digital movies and images can also be shown in 3D when using the glasses. The glasses require LCDs with 120Hz refresh rate over dual-link DVI, and despite Viewsonic and Samsung offering these types of monitors already, the price remains extremely high for 22-inch or 25-inch models.
More companies are beginning to dabble with 3D technology, with TV manufacturers interested in creating 3D HDTVs that don't require owners to wear glasses to get the full benefit of 3D graphics. Even so, products from LG, Sharp, and several other companies created 3D displays that simply didn't work very well, and consumers shied away from them.
Sony also showed off 3D technology during CES, but Nvidia was the only one to have a working demonstration of the technology available to media.
